Background: This past August artsScene Edmonton asked me to be their “Featured Artist” for an event they were holding at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. The artsScene organizers were really great and gave me complete freedom to do whatever artistic thing I pleased. So of course I had to use the opportunity to create something fun, visually engaging and completely bizarre. Oh yes, and that somehow involved architecture and history (since they would be giving tours through the night of this 1915 beautiful historic hotel).

The result? Angles of Love, a set of 6 illustrated and designed pieces that explore the different “historic periods” and phases of love. I framed the 6 illustrated prints and placed them on easels in the centre of the room, and I also created a deck of “love fortune telling” cards that I used throughout the night to tell love fortunes to various artsScene guests. The first 8 guests to have their love fortunes told were each gifted a set of the 6 illustrated cards.

If all of this makes you desperately want a love fortune of your own, I am selling a limited number of illustrated Angles of Love fortune telling card sets on my etsy site.
