AUOpen-magazine-illu-1070Background:  Athabasca University puts out an alumni magazine twice a year, that the Office of Sarah has had the pleasure of doing the layout and a bunch of illustrative work over the past few years.

The Design Problem/Opportunity: This illustration was created for “Faraway Families”, an article about the thousands of workers across Canada who have a‘fly-in, fly-out’ lifestyle, commuting to jobs and leaving home and family to live and work for extended periods of time.

The Solution: I wanted the illustration to speak to the ongoing cyclical natural of the never-ending commuting of these workers lives. Final illustration and title are hand-drawn vector drawings.
